14:30-17:30, November 26th
Hangzhou, China
The 2022 Global Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference (GAITC 2022) will be held in Hangzhou from November 25th to 27th, 2022. On November 26th, the Forum on "Mind Computation from the Perspective of Intelligent Science" will be hosted by the Professional Committee of Mind Computation, Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence (CAAI). The forum will invite scholars related to Mind Computation and Intelligent Science to give invited talks, and will hold a roundtable discussion on "Mind Computation and Intelligent Science in the Next 50 Years".
Mind Computation is an interdisciplinary discipline that studies mind modeling and its intelligent applications through cross disciplinary interactions. It focuses on interdisciplinary, multi-perspective, multi-level research on computational mechanisms of human intelligence and mental activities through deep combinations of scientific theories, research methods and scientific progress in Brain Science, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence, Neuroscience, Psychology, Anthropology and other disciplines. Main research topics of Mind Computation include but not limited to general principles and key technologies of mind modeling, machine consciousness, learning and memory mechanisms, common sense knowledge construction, social cognition, etc. and developing brain-inspired and mind-inspired artificial intelligence and application systems based on mind computation.
Mind computation is a theoretical core for Intelligence Science. Mind refers to all mental activities of human, including thinking, reasoning, memory, learning, emotion, decision-making, will, consciousness, and many social cognitive abilities. The computability of the mind provides the theoretical basis for using computational processes to explain human behavior. Mind computation studies and reveals the information processing mechanism and process of the brain through the perspective of computation. The computability of the mind is a bridge and link connecting human mental activities with artificial simulation and artificial intelligence. Mind computation is a key research field and breakthrough point to reveal the nature of intelligence and realize artificial intelligence in the true scientific sense.
The 2022 Forum on “Mind Computation under the Intelligence Science Perspective” will focus on the scientific research frontier of mind computation, the history of mind computation and intelligent science. It will elaborate on the research progress, and look forward to the next 50 years of mind computation research. This forum is organized by the Professional Committee of Mind Computation of the Chinese Academy of Artificial Intelligence and will consist of invited reports and roundtable discussions.
